Taken by the Dark Elf King : Chapter 23

Elvie

DARK ELF NOBLES DIFFER FROM light elf nobles not only in appearance but in number.

The throne room is filled with dark and white hair alike. Gray skin and glowing red eyes. The female dark elves have rings on each finger, their claws filed down into long nails that are dyed red with some sort of lacquer. The men are dressed the same, their wealth on full display.

As I stand on the dais, I stand apart from them merely by the fact that I am not wearing black. Arkain stands next to me. Regal and proud. Wylan on his other side surveys the crowd with an appraising eye. Seeing everything and missing nothing.

One of the noble families steps forward and Arkain goes to greet them. The male is almost as tall as Arkain, with lines of age around his eyes, suggesting that he is easily approaching his tenth century. The female dark elf next to him is much younger. She must be his daughter. Her dark hair is cut sharply to her chin. She curtsies for Arkain, red eyes sparkling up at him under her thick black lashes.

I narrow my eyes at them as I feel Wylan press in on my side.

“That’s Vysha,” he says, nodding towards the female Arkain is speaking with. “She was the king’s first love. He’s always wanted to marry her and there was a rumor of a betrothal for years before his parents passed.” I don’t dignify him with a response.

“It seems as though the mutual affection is still there,” he whispers and my eyes narrow in on them. Vysha leans against Arkain’s side, whispering something in his ear that he shakes his head to. She gives him a pout before winking and being whisked away by her father.

Before long, Arkain rejoins us on the dais and announces that dinner will be served in the dining hall. Threading my arm through his, we are the first to enter the hall. I cringe at all the roasted meats on display as Arkain and I make our way to the king’s table near the front. Arkain sits at the center of the table that faces the rest of the room. I sit on his right and Wylan on his left.

A male lord takes a seat next to me and another fills on his other side. I watch as the dining room fills to bursting. While the nobles next to me begin to hack off chunks of greasy pork, a servant arrives with a steaming plate of vegetables for me and Arkain. My mouth waters and I squeeze his knee under the table.

“No meat for you, Your Grace?” The noble next to me asks Arkain.

“Princess Elveena does not eat meat, Lord Dashwyne. I did not want her to feel alone in it tonight.”

“Doesn’t eat meat?” Lord Dashwyne, as Arkain called him, nearly chokes on the mouthful he is chewing. He nudges the noble on his other side. “Grigor, did you hear that? The princess doesn’t eat meat!”

“Really?” Grigor looks at me over Lord Dashwyne’s shoulder. “No meat?”

“No meat,” I say. “Very few light elves do.”

“I knew you lot were a different breed,” Grigor murmurs, and Arkain growls next to me before I kick him under the table. “Begging your pardon of course.”

“It’s nothing really, but if history is to be believed you all are the strange breed,” I say while taking a sip of my wine.

“Tell us something, princess,” one of the nobles from the gallery calls, “what were your first thoughts of Myrkorvin when you arrived here?”

The hall grows quiet as they wait for my response. Even Arkain looks at me as if to say You are on your own with this one.

“I thought it was very beautiful,” I say. “I’d never left Lysan before and Myrkorvin, we are told, is wild and filled with creatures that will try and eat us.”

“It is,” someone shouts back and the hall laughs. I smile as well.

“But there is a beauty in the wildness of it. In truth, I do not know why my people fear you so much. The longer I stay here, the more I discover how alike our people are. Despite how different we may look.”

“What is Lysan like these days? It has been centuries since we were able to travel there.”

“It is warm—” I start to answer before another voice rings out.

“I do not remember female light elves being as beautiful as you.”

Arkain tenses beside me and I give his knee another reassuring squeeze. That is how my dinner continues. Noble after noble peppers me with questions. About my time at the castle, growing up in Lysan, if I have any distant relatives that would be interested in taking a dark elf as a lover.

It is all in good fun but my voice is beginning to ache and as the meals are cleared away, the festivities of the dinner begin to die down. Arkain has been silent next to me for the better part of an hour. It does not take any thinking at all to surmise that he is jealous.

Turning towards him, I place my hand on his arm. “I want some attention.” He sets his wine down and raises a brow at me.

“Seems like you were getting plenty of it from my nobles.”

“But attention from you is the only attention I want,” I say, leaning in to rub my nose along his cheek. I inhale his masculine scent and instantly my pussy gets wet. I can feel the eyes of the other nobles on us, and that’s why it’s important to make this show public. My beast needs to feel like he owns me, that his claim on me is known by everyone who sees us.

“Would you like me to show you how much I want attention from you?” I ask, dropping my hand to the hardening bulge in his pants. Arkain groans and stands, pulling me after him much to the dismay of Wylan and the curious looks of other nobles.

We are not the first to leave the dinner. Many lords and ladies are milling in the hall. Arkain pays them no mind as he pulls me into one of the alcoves, my purple ball gown swishing after me.

His claws snag in my hair as he ravages my mouth with his. Thrusting his tongue in, his rich taste fills my mouth. Growling against me, he pulls me hard to his chest, claws dig into my ass, and I moan into his mouth.

“You’re mine,” he says, licking down my neck. “They should not be allowed to even look at you. They covet what is mine, I know they do.”

“But I am only yours. You’re the only one I want,” I pant as he grinds himself against me. There are voices coming closer and I freeze, but Arkain continues.

“Prove it and keep quiet,” he says, before diving under my gown. My massive skirts keep him hidden as I feel his claws part my thighs and his tongue run along the seam of my pussy. Oh gods, he cannot be serious. I brace my hands on the wall of the alcove as Arkain’s skillful tongue continues to work me.

“Princess Elveena,” someone says behind me and I turn, almost tripping over the dark elf under my dress. It is Grigor from dinner.

“Hello,” I say and my voice sounds breathless even to me.

“I just wanted to say that it was an honor to meet you this evening.”

“Really?” I ask and swallow my moan as Arkain sucks on my clit.

“Yes, it has been so long since our two people shared a meal together. It would be nice if we could get back to the way things used to be, wouldn’t you agree?”

“Oh yes,” I breathe and Grigor’s eyes widen. Surely he must smell what’s going on beneath my skirts, but if he does he doesn’t comment on it.

“Yes,” I say again, trying to regain my composure. “That would be wonderful if our two peoples could reunite.”

“Maybe you and the king could do that? You two seem fairly close.” At that moment, Arkain decides to slip one of his fingers inside of me and my knees almost buckle.

“Yes,” I grit out. “We are quite close.”

“Speaking of the king, is he around here somewhere? There is a matter I must discuss with him…” He trails off and I seize this as my opportunity.

“King Arkain was headed towards the library last I saw him. Perhaps if you hurry you will catch him.” Grigor thanks me and leaves. Now that we are alone Arkain doubles his efforts.

Alternating between plunging his tongue inside and two of his thick fingers, I lean my head against the nearest wall and moan. Pleasure courses through me and with one final nip at my clit I am done for. My thighs squeeze his head as I shake my way through a climax.

Crawling out from beneath my skirts, Arkain licks his lips with a self-satisfied smirk.

“Happy now?” I ask.

“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” I shake my head and link our arms together.

“Come, my beast. This party is only just getting started.”

We make our way back into the great hall just as the band starts up. I look up at Arkain and he smiles, holding out his hand.

“Dance with me, princess?” His clawed hand envelopes mine and he leads me through each dance turn after turn, not stopping until the sun is painting the sky pink.
