Alpha Inmate: Chapter 6

ERIK

She left, yet her scent still lingers.

He can smell her on his clothes.

On his fucking skin.

And she doesn’t just smell good, she smells like his.

She belonged to him the moment she lost her temper and vulnerability shined in her beautiful eyes, giving him a glimpse of her soul.

Now he needs to know everything about her.

Doctor Porter practically jumped at the chance to speak with him. Erik was open and honest as they spoke, offering portions of his life he’s never shared with the doctor. Of course, it’s all to get her to stay, but Porter doesn’t need to know that.

“You’re too smart to be here,” the doctor said to him, giving him back his books. “And something’s off about why you’re here. There’s more to it than you let on.”

He fought the urge to scoff. Of course, he’s not telling the truth.

He’ll never tell them the true reason he killed those men.

The burner phone Kean gave him weeks ago still has a little juice, and he switches it on once he’s back in his cell.

There’s just enough battery life to conduct some quick research.

Elizabeth Winters.

Twenty-four years old. Omega.

In moments, he finds all her public records.

Her electronic identity is bared to him, and he’s able to orchestrate just enough chaos that she doesn’t leave.

And, just his luck, she has an electric car.

Unlucky for her, it’s easy to hack into one and render it useless.

Which is exactly what he does.

“She’s agreed to work with you, as long as you continue to work with me.” Doctor Porter can’t contain his excitement, and it shows on his face.

And for once, he genuinely smiles back. “Sounds good.”

“She’ll be here tomorrow. She’s getting her car fixed today.”

It can’t be fixed by today, he thinks.

The smile doesn’t leave his face.

He can’t fucking wait for tomorrow.
