Class Act: Chapter 44

EMERY

clothes?”

I helped Abe into the chair of the private bathroom and picked up the cast covers. “Why would I need extra clothes?”

I stooped before him and pulled the cast cover over his leg, just like the nurse had shown me the first time I’d volunteered to help him bathe. She’d grumbled at first, but when I pointed out that when they discharged him and we were home, I would have to help him in the shower, she agreed. She’d taught me what to do to make sure his casts stayed dry.

“Because something tells me it’s going to be a very wet shower.”

I chuckled. “Is there any other kind of shower but wet?”

“Are you deliberately misunderstanding me?” Abe circled my wrist when I stood.

I bit back my grin. Since the doctor gave him the go-ahead for nonvigorous sex, he’d been hinting at how horny he was. To take pity on him, I’d blown him in the bathroom yesterday. As soon as I shut the door, I’d raised the hospital gown and worked him over with my lips, my tongue, and the gentle scrape of my teeth. He must have really been turned on because in less than three minutes, I was swallowing his load.

“You’re a sick man,” I said. “You shouldn’t be thinking about sex.”

He held up his arm cast, and I slipped the cover over it and checked to see both were sealed properly. I took my job of taking care of him seriously. Over the past three weeks, it’d been hell leaving him whenever his colleagues and the guys from his team came by to check on him. Once, when the principal showed up unannounced, I’d had to hide in the bathroom for almost an hour.

“Why not? You look extra pretty today.”

He released my arm and trailed his hands up my leggings. Despite trying to be the sensible one, I couldn’t stop the shiver that ran down my spine. Since his accident, Abe seemed bolder and less hesitant about touching me. Like the accident had taught him there was too little time to not go after what he wanted.

And what he wanted, he gently squeezed.

I peeled his hand away from my semihard cock, but I couldn’t let his compliment slide. “Thank you.”

“It’s been a long time since I’ve really touched you, Emmy,” he said as I got the washcloth and soap.

It was. My nipples tingled, but I passed the soapy washcloth over his shoulders, his neck, his torso. His nipples.

No, I can’t.

But nobody will know.

He’s about to be discharged. We can do this at home.

Arguing with myself didn’t work. I grazed Abe’s nipple with my finger.

“Emery, don’t tease me,” he whispered. “My body’s already on edge.”

He moved his hand to show me his erection. I lowered the washcloth over his stomach and toward his cock. I soaped him up, ignoring the way he tensed and panted heavily. With the rag on his thigh, I used my hands to wash his cock from the tip to the tightly curled hairs on his groin.

“God, Emery, you’re killing me,” Abe groaned, leaning his head back and clutching the chair.

I detached the handheld showerhead and turned it on. When the temperature was warm enough, I rinsed the soap from his body. Stroking his cock slowly, I directed the pulsating stream, using the massage setting onto his cock.

“Fuck.” Abe half rose out of the chair, and I turned off the water. “Don’t stop.”

“Feels good?”

“It’d feel better if you were naked too. Your sweater’s getting wet.”

So it was.

After three weeks of recuperating slowly, Abe deserved a reward. I could be generous, couldn’t I? Besides, no one would enter the bathroom, knowing I was giving him a bath. The nurse had said it might take another couple of hours for the doctor to make his rounds and sign the release form for Abe.

Mandy was back at the house, checking if everything was ready for Abe’s return. Christmas was in a few days, and I’d kept my fingers crossed that they would discharge him so we could spend our first holiday together at home.

Mandy and I had decorated instead of Abe and me like I’d always dreamed of. Eggnog, wrapping our gifts in separate rooms before placing them under the tree we would have selected and decorated together. We’d put Christmas movies on and curl up on our sofa while I begged him to let me open his gift for me early.

The most important thing, though, was having him home. Next year we could live our dream of making our holiday our own, but if there was one thing I’d learned, it was that love meant staying together through thick and thin, even when the dream got disturbed.

I handed Abe the showerhead and pulled my sweater over my head, giving him a good view of his favorite bra beneath. He watched me with his lips slightly open, his eyes following my every movement like a predator stuck on its prey. I didn’t bother to unhook the bra. I knew he enjoyed seeing me wearing it when he was deep inside me.

“We’ll have to go slow, since we’ll have to use spit as lube.” I pushed down the waistband of my leggings and stepped out of them.

“Check the inside pocket of the hospital gown.”

I scooped up the gown I’d discarded and felt inside. A small tube. No, he didn’t. I took it out.

Yes, he did.

“How long have you been thinking about this?”

“Too damn long. Do you know how embarrassing it is to ask your lesbian friend to bring you back lube when she comes to visit? Come here, baby.”

I went over to Abe and sat on his lap, chuckling. “I bet Lynn had a field day with that. This how you want me?”

“Yes.” He circled my waist with his good hand. “Look how beautiful you are. I missed you sitting on my lap with your arms around me.”

“What else did you miss?” I dug my fingers into his hair and ghosted his lips with mine.

“The way your sexy little moans turn into screams.” He ran his hand up my stomach. “How you eagerly spread your legs for me, baby. Every single time.”

“I’m a horny boy.”

“I know. And I love it. Love you.”

I clamped my lips to his in a kiss, sweeping my tongue into his mouth. The showerhead tumbled from his hand and hit the floor. But that was the least of my worries. We had little time for me to make us both come.

Abe rubbed his fingers between my crack and over my hole. “When we get home, I want you to sit right on my face and let my tongue do all the work for you. Lube.”

I squeezed the lube onto his fingers and pulled my thong to one side. It’d been three weeks without him inside me. He stretched me with two digits, scissoring and fucking me. I braced an arm on his chair and gently rocked back against his fingers.

“Abe,” I moaned, my cock now fully erect.

“You missed this, didn’t you, Emery?”

“Yeeees. I missed everything about you.”

“But what did you miss most about sex with me?”

“How you stretch me.” I undulated my hips, fucking myself back on his fingers. “And the way you grab me by the hair when you’re about to pound my hole really hard.”

“Fuck.” Abe removed his hand. “Up.”

I raised my hips and settled over his cock. He held the broad base, and I slid down, taking him into my body. A shudder ran through me, and I gasped.

“What else would you have missed about this, Emmy?” he rasped.

“The way you love to come inside me and how you play with my hole afterward like you cherish it.”

“Because I do.” He moved. “How can I not? It’s so good to me.” He looked almost pained from the way I rode him, careful not to jolt him too much. “I walked away from everything for this. Keep riding me, baby.”

“You like how I fuck myself on your cock, Abe?”

“Yes, baby.”

I bit my bottom lip and released it with a moan. “So good, Abe. I can feel you so deep inside my hole.”

“I can feel it. Jesus, Emery. Don’t stop.”

I sat down on his lap and gyrated on his cock, grinding down on it until his pelvis pressed up against my ass. Abe’s hand came behind me and squeezed my cheek. “Right there, baby. Right there. Let me—ugh!”

Abe grunted, his body jerking a few times as he came inside me. I stroked my dick and continued to rock on him. My breathing turned shallow, and I moved my hands harder. Abe slipped his uninjured hand beneath the bra and squeezed my nipple.

“Fuck. Fuck!” I exploded over Abe’s stomach and couldn’t stop stroking my dick until every last drop ended up on him.

“Whew!” Abe grinned, flashing pearly white teeth. “Damn, baby. I didn’t say to give me a heart attack. That was amazing.”

“No jokes about heart attacks or anything like that.” I kissed him, and because he was right and I’d missed being on his lap, I wrapped my arms around him and pressed my face to the spot between his shoulder and neck. “I missed this too, but you’re going home today.”

“Things will be very different for a while,” Abe said. “Are you sure you still want to do this? Not scared off yet after the past three weeks?”

I bit his neck and sucked hard to leave a mark there. He groaned but didn’t tell me to stop.

“I’m going to marry you, Abe Cooper.” I wiggled the fingers of my left hand. “You bought me this ring, and I’m never taking it off, ever. If you thought Teresa was bad for not wanting to let you go, you haven’t seen anything yet. I fought hard for you, and I’m never letting you go.”

Within the hour, the doctor arrived for one last checkup, then signed his get-out-of-jail card, as Abe called it. Abe would have to come back as an outpatient and follow through with his therapy appointments, but he was just as happy as me to finally be out of the hospital. Although he hadn’t complained to me once, I knew Abe. He was a man of the outdoors. Lying in a hospital bed for almost a month would have been his idea of hell.

I drove him home while he dozed off. A day had never felt as good as this one. I parked next to Mandy’s car and nudged Abe.

“Abe, we’re here.”

“Hmm.” He unbuckled his seat belt and stared at the house. I got out, went around to his side, and helped him into his wheelchair Teresa had delivered to the hospital.

“Damn, I can’t believe I missed this place in such a short time,” he whispered. “You decorated for the holidays.”

Wreaths hung from ribbons in the windows, the mat at the front door had been replaced with a green-and-red one, and oversized cut-out letters spelling out “joy” dangled above the door. No guess there about how I felt about his coming home. Two galvanized planters with small fake Christmas trees decorated with lights sat on either side of the door.

“Of course I did. I always loved this time of the year, and you coming home after what happened just makes this year more special.”

“Come here.”

I bent my head, and he kissed my forehead. “I haven’t thanked you enough for taking care of me, have I? I know it’s been tough on you with school and everything.”

“It was, but I’d do anything for you, Abe. You have to know that.”

A cool gust of wind brushed by, and I shivered. The weather had changed so much in the past three weeks. Snow on the ground, the frosty bite in the air competing with the warmth of a winter’s sun.

“We should get in.”

“Be careful.”

I opened the door and wheeled him in. I sighed at the warmth that enveloped us like a hug.

“Something smells good,” he said. “Did you bake?”

“I tried, and it was a disaster. Mandy must have picked up the treats I’d asked her to.”

“You didn’t have to do all this, Emery, especially on your own.”

I’d put a photograph of us in the center of the table in the hall, surrounded by garlands, silver ornaments, and tea lights in jars. Over the banister ran an evergreen garland topped by dried hydrangea heads fused with fairy lights. A string of sparkling green and silver balls draped along the sides, simple but elegant.

“But you like it, right?” I crouched next to his wheelchair.

“I love it. You did so good, babe.” He cupped the side of my face and kissed me. I had to resist the urge to squeeze him in a hug. I laughed instead. He pulled back and smiled. “You’re happy.”

“I am. You’re home.”

He touched the corner of my mouth in a light caress.

“Is this the final destination?”

Mandy, dressed in a red sweater dress with reindeers on the front and a Santa hat on her head, was beaming. I wasn’t the only one overjoyed to have Abe home.

“It’s good to see you here, Mandy.”

We had reached a sort of unspoken truce during Abe’s time in the hospital. Teresa hadn’t come around often, but she no longer stirred conflict whenever Mandy wanted to see her dad either. I’d been afraid when Abe’s divorce papers came through that she would have been upset, but she’d been rather quiet as if she’d accepted the inevitable.

Mandy and Abe embraced and chatted as we went to the living room, which had taken a bit of creativity to give it a Christmassy feel while making it our temporary “bedroom.” The doctor had advised against making unnecessary trips up and down the stairs.

The tree in the corner was a small one, given we had little space, but I’d decorated it with metallic ornaments, pinecones, and burlap bows. I hadn’t been able to do much Christmas shopping, but I had gifts placed under the tree for Mandy and Abe. I had even bought something for Teresa from both of us, but whether she would accept it was a different matter.

Our bed was now in the corner, taking up much of the free space, and I’d had to remove one of the couches, but it worked. Most importantly, Abe didn’t have to use the stairs. Thanks to Lynn, the half bath now had a shower installed as well—a small one that would only fit one of us. Bathroom sex was definitely out of the equation for some time.

Our quickie in the bathroom at the hospital would have to be enough to live on for a while.

“Isn’t it great, Dad?” Mandy asked. “I don’t know how Emery made a bedroom and living room combo that works, but it looks amazing.”

“It does.” He shook his head. “How’d you find time to do all this? It seems you were always at the hospital when you weren’t at school.”

“You slept a lot.”

He laughed. “Well, that’s true. This accident has turned me into an old man.”

“You were always an old man,” Mandy said.

“Emery doesn’t think so.”

Mandy’s face turned red. “That’s my cue to get the eggnog and cookies.”

I swatted Abe’s chest. “Stop making her uncomfortable.”

“It’s cute every time she blushes when we hint at anything intimate between us.”

“Don’t torture her. She’s helped me a lot while you’ve been away.” I helped him out of the chair and supported his weight. “Couch or bed?”

“Couch. I’ve been in bed for three weeks. It wouldn’t be too soon if I never see a bed again.”

Together, we got him situated on the couch with a pillow under his broken leg. It would be at least another month or so before the cast could be removed. They should remove the one on his arm in two weeks. Although his ribs were on the mend, he still had a long way to go.

“What are you thinking about?” Abe asked.

“That it’s good to have you home.”

“You love me that much, do you?”

I lowered my eyes coyly. “I just didn’t enjoy sleeping alone.”

Abe chuckled. “Is that what it is?”

“Yes, what else?”

“So you don’t mind if all we do is sleep, then?”

I swallowed at the heat in his stare. “Well, I never said that was the only reason.”

“Care to fill me in on the rest?”

“Well…”

“I have the treats,” Mandy called out. I was sure she meant it as a warning she was coming and to wrap up whatever disgustingly affectionate gesture we were showing to each other.

I laughed and shook my head. “I’ll tell you later. How about that?”

“Something to look forward to.”

Something to look forward to.

Not just tonight, but a future with him. I admired the ring on my finger.

Mandy came in with a plate of cookies and ripped me a new one for not helping her but making mooneyes at her father.

Laughing, I jumped to my feet and swiped a cookie from the plate.

“Seriously, Dad, how do you manage when he’s such a troublemaker?”

“Love makes you do unexpected things, sweetheart. One day you’ll understand.”

I glanced over my shoulder. Abe was watching me, the love in his eyes warming my heart. I could have been so angry, so jaded and lost, but his forbidden love had saved me right on time.

Who would have thought my best friend’s father would be the one?

Sure as hell not me, but despite all the troubles we had encountered and would certainly face in the future, I wouldn’t want anyone else but Abe Cooper.
