Dirty Plays: Chapter 8

ZAYN

THE TWO EVENINGS I’ve spent with Gia have been two of the worst of my life. This girl talks incessantly about herself—about her clothes, the house her grandfather bought her, her acting career, her hair, her makeup, about how she thinks people worship her and want to be her so badly. It’s all fucking annoying. People who think so highly of themselves are the worst type of people. I avoid them like the plague, but it’s not like I’m here by choice.

This forced dating shit ends tonight.

“Did you see the way Maria Vanderbilt was drooling over my dress? She’s so low class, and if it wasn’t for her last name, no one would even speak to her,” Gia prattles on about some girl she was speaking to at the event as I drive her home in my Jeep.

I couldn’t give a shit about what she has to say because every word out of her mouth is catty. I just want her to stop talking and I can’t get this Jeep back to her place fast enough to get rid of her.

I follow the GPS direction and pull into Gia’s neighborhood and breath a sigh of relief, knowing I’ll be rid of her soon, when I park in front of her house. I know it’s not very gentleman-like, but I don’t make a move to get out and open the door for her. I don’t want to give her an invitation to touch me in any manner. “Here you go.”

Gia unbuckles her safety belt and then turns toward me a bit. “Want to come inside?”

“No,” I say flatly.

Gia purses her lips into an impatient line. “I don’t think you understand what I’m offering you.”

I turn to glare at her. “I don’t want to fuck you. I told you before, you are not my type and just because you’ve figured out a way to force me into a couple of dates, it doesn’t change the fact you won’t be getting any dick from me.”

She folds her slender arms over her chest and glares at me. “Well, we’ll have to figure out a way to loosen you up around me and stop being so damn robotic. People will not buy that we’re a couple if you don’t stop being so standoffish with me. You have to at least pretend to adore me, and I will suck your cock right here, right now if it will help in that department.”

“I don’t want people to think there’s something between us,” I snap. “There’s been nothing between us and there won’t be—not now or not ever. I’ve gone out with you twice now because your grandfather gave me no other choice, and I’m fucking done with this show of yours. I won’t be taking you to the Reality Television Awards.”

Her blue eyes narrow into tiny slits. “You can’t do that! That wasn’t our deal!”

“Doesn’t matter. We’re done. I’m tired of you spreading lies, making it seem like we’re fucking, and stop sending me nudes.”

Her mouth drops open, and there’s a slight curl in her top lip. “Vivi…that little bi—”

“Don’t even say her name, and don’t finish that sentence,” I warn.

“Your niece has a big, fat mouth just like her ass. I don’t see why you care if she knows about your sex life.”

“What goes on between Vivi and I is none of your damn business.” I grip the steering wheel a little tighter, trying my best to rein in my anger so I don’t roar at her and split her eardrums. I take a deep breath and then release it through my nose. “Get the fuck out of my Jeep and lose my goddamn number.”

She releases a humorless laugh. “You’ll be sorry you ever crossed me, Zayn North.”

I clench my jaw because I hate being threatened in any manner, but I don’t bother to look at her. I keep my gaze fixed straight ahead out of the window. “I doubt it.”

She yanks the handle of my Jeep and crawls out before slamming the door so hard it rocks the whole vehicle. I don’t have to look at her to know she’s probably standing there staring at me seething with anger because she couldn’t get her way with me.

I mash the gas and take off down the street to get away from her as soon as I can. After spending a little time with Gia, I understand now why Vivi and Bella hate Gia so much. She’s a bitch, just like they said. There’s no doubt she’s probably calling Bruce as we speak to ask him to fire or trade me after the way I spoke to her.

Let’s just hope my boss doesn’t listen to her, but if he does, I’ll have to deal with it. I’m tired of things keeping me from being with Vivi, and if it pisses off a few people that we’re together, then so fucking be it because I refuse to hurt her anymore.
