End Game: 3RD PERIOD – Text Chat (3)

THE FOLLOWING MORNING

Unknown: Saw you in the papers.

Gracie: Who is this?

Unknown: Aela O’Donnelly. Paddy gave me your number.

Gracie: Oh! Hey! You saw me in the papers at the function?

Aela: Yup. Where did you get that outfit from? I loved it.

Gracie: Really? I didn’t fit in, lol. All the other women had short dresses on, but I felt comfortable. Like I stayed true to myself, you know?

Aela: Man, I get it. It’s so hard to remain authentic when you have to go to these galas and charity functions. Bleugh.

Aela: I was politely told once that women with blue hair aren’t allowed to attend such events and it’s only because Declan is who he is that I was allowed inside.

Gracie: Fuck off!

Gracie: No way someone told you that!

Aela: They did. I swear! Hahaha. It was hilarious, tbh. We weren’t even there because of him. It was this art thing for charity. It was all about me.

Gracie: Man, that sucks. I’m so glad you didn’t listen. I love your hair!

Aela: Me too. After I told Declan what that bitch said, he told me that he’ll get mad if I change my hair color now.

Gracie: LOL. Gotta love a supportive man.

Aela: Ya do. Of course, I’m thinking of going purple… but I don’t think he’ll mind. Do you? 😛

Gracie: Nah. I bet he won’t.

Aela: You were cute together. I saw that at the family dinner, but last night, you looked smitten.

Aela: I know, I know, that’s an old-fashioned word, but I mean it. It sums the pair of you up.

Gracie: Smitten? Haha. I don’t think so.

Aela: Why not? You seen the pictures?

Gracie: Not yet. Just woke up tbh.

Aela: You should check them out.

Gracie: I’m fine with not seeing myself in the papers lol.

Aela: If you say so. 😛

Gracie: Liam was exhausted last night. It took a lot out of him.

Aela: It’s a pressurized situation.

Gracie: For sure. I don’t know how they do it, but they do. Part of the job, I guess.

Aela: I’m glad you could be there for him.

Gracie: Yeah, me too actually. I was surprised when he invited me. I figured he’d attend alone.

Aela: Why would you think that when you’re dating lol?

Gracie: I dunno. I just did. Anyway, I’m glad you got my number from Paddy.

Gracie: Hey, hit me up when you’re going to go purple, yeah? I’m feeling like a cut myself.

Aela: It’ll be sooner rather than later.

Gracie: Looking forward to it!
