Evil Boys: Chapter 60

KAI

I aim and shoot at one of the men in our way, but he jumps to the side right before it hits him.

BANG!

A bullet hits me right in the shoulder, and I hiss in pain.

“You’re in Bones Brotherhood territory now, boy. You want to join these girls in the auction?” He laughs in a sinister way.

“WHERE IS LANA?” I growl back.

He laughs. “You’ll never see her again.”

“Did you sell her?” I scream and shoot at him again, the bullet hitting him in the thigh.

He grunts and stumbles but still shoots.

BANG!

Miss.

“There’s a ton more just like me waiting here for you. We’ll fuck you up and make you beg for mercy. You’ll never win this, boy!”

“I’ll fucking die trying,” I growl back, and I bolt toward him, avoiding every shot before I chuck my gun right at his face.

He looks shocked as the gun knocks him back, and I pull out my knife and jab it straight into his heart.

“You mess with my girl, you mess with me,” I say through gritted teeth before pulling the knife out of his chest and watching the blood spray out.

Another one runs up to me from behind with a knife in his hand, and I shove it into his belly before he can even get close. The gurgle that follows only makes my bloodlust grow.

“Where is she?” I roar through the hallways.

Alistair tugs at each door, starting in the back of the hallway, so I take the ones in the front, shooting open the locks before ripping the doors open. Most cells are empty, save for a few filled with boxes of weapons and drugs. In a few others, women shriek and rush past me toward the exit.

“Run for your life!” Alistair beckons them.

They would probably be sold just as Lana would be if I don’t get to her in time.

Where the fuck are they keeping her?

Am I already too late?

My heart almost cracks under the weight of that predicament, and I grunt out loud as I rip the next door off its hinges. Inside are two Bonesmen casually counting money.

BANG. BANG.

Two shots are enough to put them out of their misery. They deserve more than a second of pain, but I don’t have time to waste on torture. I’ve opened all the doors here and still no sign of her.

Fuck.

“There’s a staircase here,” Milo yells from the other end of the hallway, so I run toward him.

“Is she there?”

“I don’t hear anything, but it’s worth a shot,” he replies.

BANG! BANG!

Shots come from behind us, and I look to see more men pouring in, separating us two from the flank group and Alistair.

“I’ll fight off these fuckers! Focus on finding Lana!” Alistair calls at me. “I’ll fight my way to the rest!”

“Nathan’s on his own,” Milo mutters.

“Go!” Nathan yells over one of those fuckers’ shoulders before he engages in another fight.

BANG!

“You check the other hallway with Felix’s group and Caleb!” I yell back at Nathan.

“Don’t mind me; I’m just killing some Bones Brotherhood bastards!” Caleb yells back.

We run down the stairs as fast as we can. Nathan’s the only one left behind, but I trust him not to die on me.

We run down into the basement, where there are a ton more men, and I immediately shoot while Milo charges at them. We work in tandem, alternating fists with knives and gunshots until I’m all out of bullets and knock one of them out with my gun. I don’t need weapons to win this; all I need is determination, and I am not fucking leaving here without my little kitty.

“C’mon, boy, hit me with your best shot,” the fucker says, so I sucker punch him in the chin, knocking him down to the floor.

“Don’t ask for what you can’t take,” I retort, while Milo bashes his head in with his nunchucks.

I hear faint moaning behind the third door, so I yell at Milo, “Here!”

He knocks the lock out with his nunchucks, and I kick open the door with every inch of rage I have inside me, knocking it off its hinges.

But when my eyes find Lana hanging on a wall, blood rolling down her face, all the anger that flooded my body suddenly dissipates into thin air.

And all that’s left in the madness of bullets and violence is silence.
