Fierce Betrayal: Chapter 35

LUCIA

I look out of the window and watch the droplets of rain run down the pane. Matthias is asleep. Jax’s cell phone is switched off. I spoke to my mom half an hour ago and she told me my father wasn’t home yet. I don’t know how she does this, knowing he’s out there, possibly in danger, and not being able to reach him.

I can’t focus on anything other than the knot of anxiety in my stomach. I don’t even know if Jax is coming back here. We didn’t get a chance to discuss plans once we landed at LAX.

A black truck drives past and I hold my breath, waiting for it to stop, but it drives right by.

I sigh and walk into the kitchen to make a cup of Molly’s famous calming tea—she gave me a box before I left. The water has only just boiled when I hear a knock at my front door. I run out into the hallway and look through the peephole. My heart almost bursts with relief when I see Jax standing there. Opening the door, I throw my arms around his neck.

“Thank God you’re okay,” I breathe as I pepper his jaw and face with kisses.

He wraps his arms around me and walks me through the door, kicking it closed behind him. It’s only once we’re inside my apartment that I see his shirt is covered in blood.

“Are you hurt?” I look down at his blood-soaked clothes.

“It’s not mine,” he growls and keeps walking me back through my apartment until we get to my bedroom. Once we’re inside he kicks that door closed too and spins me around until I’m pressed up against it.

“Jax,” I whisper, taking his face in my hands. “What happened?”

“He’s gone, Luce. He can’t hurt you anymore.” He drops his head to my neck and starts kissing me. He is rough and hurried and his stubble scratches my skin but I pull him closer.

“I need you so fucking bad,” he growls in my ear as his hands run over my hips until he reaches the edge of my dress and he pulls it up until it’s bunched around my waist.

“I’m right here,” I breathe as I reach for his zipper and tug it open. Sliding my hand into his jeans, I squeeze his cock. It’s hard and smooth, like hot stone.

“Fuck,” Jax growls as he squeezes my ass, lifting my legs and wrapping them around his waist. I have to grab onto him for support as he rolls his hips against me. I groan as wet heat sears between my thighs. He presses me against the door, holding me up while he reaches beneath my dress and tears a hole in my panties.

“Jax,” I gasp.

“I want in your hot cunt right now, Angel,” he growls as he thrusts himself inside me and I gasp as he stretches me wide open for him. It burns but it feels so damn good.

“You are everything I need,” he groans as he buries his face in my neck. I claw at him, wanting him deeper and harder and he responds by driving further into me, nailing me to the door.

“Jax. I love how you fuck me,” I whimper and it seems to spur him on even more. He fucks me harder than he ever has before, while he is soaked in the blood of the man he just killed — for me. And I love every single second of it, because the animal inside me recognizes his and it knows that this is the best kind of salvation there is.
