Finn: Chapter 23

SLOANE

Everything moved in a blur after that. Finn and I somehow made it back to the house on the back of his bike, and when I came to and focused my vision my phone was vibrating in my hand. The police department was calling me, and I picked up the phone faster than the speed of light.

Only to hear those delicious words drip from the chief’s mouth.

“We got ‘em, Detective. All of ‘em. Twenty-seven girls, nineteen guys, and Chops was the first we put into handcuffs.”

I sighed with relief. “Thank you so much, Detective.”

He snickered. “Don’t thank me. You’re the one who got us this far. Without your help, we would’ve never gotten to this point. Thank you, Detective. And as far as I’m concerned, you’re one of us. If you ever need anything, you let me know and I’ll do my damndest to make it happen.”

I smiled so brightly that my cheeks started to hurt. “I appreciate that, sir.”

“You enjoy your evening, just wanted to call with the good news. And if you’d like, you can come by the station tomorrow. We’re gonna let Chops marinate for a bit overnight before we start grilling him around nine.”

I stood to my feet. “Oh, I’ll be there. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

He chuckled. “Great. You’re grabbing coffee. The guys like it black, and I like mine iced.”

I nodded. “Noted. Danishes? Cinnamon rolls?”

“Oh, we eat anything.”

I barked with laughter. “All right, I’ll see you at nine in the morning with coffee and danishes.”

“Sounds good to me.”

And the second I wrapped up my phone call, I smiled at Finn. “They got him.”

His eyes widened. “Chops?”

I nodded. “As well as nineteen of their guys. The Black Flags will be no more, and we rescued twenty-seven girls in the process.”

“Holy shit!” he exclaimed.

He picked me up and twirled me around before our lips crashed together. My back fell to the bed and he came tumbling with me, his hands roaming my body as our tongues collided. My heart beat heavily against my chest as we shed our clothes. My bare tits fell against his chiseled chest for the first time and I almost blew through the roof. I felt his thick, pulsing cock ready for entry. My pussy leaked juices down my ass crack as Finn teased the crook of my neck with his nibbling kisses.

And when he pressed into me, the words dripped from my mouth like rainfall from a rooftop.

“I love you so much,” I said breathlessly.

He bottomed out every inch inside of my body before our eyes connected and the shock that ran behind them stilled us both. I cupped his cheeks in my hands, smiling up at the gorgeous face I had come to love. His beautiful eyes sparkled in the shred of moonlight streaming through the basement windows. His etched body with his trembling muscles and his throbbing cock hovered over me as his eyes searched mine.

And when he finally realized I wasn’t lying, his words stopped my heart in my chest.

“I fucking love you too, Sloane. Holy shit.”

I gripped his hair and pulled his lips back down to mine as his hips pumped against me. With his knees digging into the mattress and my legs locked around him, our bodies became one as we celebrated our monumental victory. He pinned my hands above my head and fucked me until the bed started scooting across the carpeted floor. The sounds of wet skin slapping wet skin filled the spaces between us while I chanted his name like a breathless prayer. I kept repeating those words, telling him how much I loved him as my tits buckered and my back bows.

And when my toes began curling, I grew speechless.

“Oh, God–Finn–I’m–it’s–you’re–.”

He bit into my shoulder and growled. “Come with me, gorgeous.”

“Finn!” I cried out.

My body unraveled as my mind went blank. Silver stars burst in my vision before my eyes rolled back and I allowed the pleasure he afforded me to take over. He growled and rutted against me. The wild beast finally came out to play as he gripped my tits and hung on for dear life. His cock grew thicker with every stroke of my walls as I milked him dry, and when I heard my name fall from his lips I knew he was close.

“Shit, Sloane. Just like that. I love you. I love you. I love you.”

“Oh, fuck,” I whimpered.

He collapsed against me when his dick exploded, sending strings of hot seed scouring my walls. He marked me from the inside out, kissing the teeth marks he’d left behind on my shoulder while his cock coated my walls. I felt full. Complete. Never in my life had I felt so at home within the arms of a man before.

And the thought of going home broke my heart.

“I should go tell the guys,” he panted in the crook of my neck.

I rubbed his back with my hands. “Just give us a few seconds like this. Please?”

He nodded and kissed my cheek. “Anything for you.”

I reveled in the moment. I committed it to memory before he slid away, his dick dropping from between my legs. I felt the evidence of our debauchery sliding down toward the bed, creating a wet spot I didn’t mind laying in as Finn began to dress himself.

And after kissing my forehead, he left to go tell the guys the good news.

I heard the rejoicing upstairs as I pulled myself upright. I heard the guys yelling and laughing with joy while beers were cracked open. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to celebrate, but after Finn’s admission that he felt the same way I did, there was only one other thing to do.

And I wasn’t sure how he’d take it.

“Sloane!”

Finn’s voice echoed down the stairs as I came out of the bathroom after cleaning myself up. “Yeah?”

He rushed around the corner. “You should come upstairs. We’re having drinks to celebrate.”

I shrugged. “I’m okay, but thank you. I have my own ways of celebrating.”

He snickered. “What? Like finding another case to work on?”

I cleared my throat. “Possibly. Maybe I could find another job to work on around here, or something.”

He blinked. “Wait, what?”

I held my breath, trying to find the right words. “This case showed me a lot. It showed me what I want out of life and it showed me that this job–this detective stuff–is really wearing down on me. I mean, the hoops you always have to jump through and the book you always have to abide by. It’s exhausting, you know?”

He walked toward me. “You don’t want to be a detective anymore?”

“No, no, no, it’s not that. I just–wish I could live a little more in that gray area, so to speak.”

He grinned. “We rubbing off on you?”

I rolled my eyes. “Not that much, you’re not.”

He took me into his arms. “Well, just to let you know–though I’m not sure you want to know this–we have a guy on the inside that’s going to be keeping an eye on Chops.”

I blinked. “That’s why I no longer want to work for the police.”

“Do you want to hear what his instructions are?”

I couldn’t help myself. “What are they?”

Finn kissed my forehead. “We’re gonna have Chops sweat it out through his interrogation, and when he goes to jail he’ll be set up in a jail with a bunch of innocent people he’s thrown under the bus and put behind bars.”

My eyes widened. “Holy shit. They might just ki–.”

And when it clicked, I didn’t feel terrible about the outcome.

“You know what? Serves him right,” I said.

Finn chuckled. “I wasn’t sure what kind of a reaction you were going to have, but I’m pleasantly surprised.”

I pulled away from his grasp. “You know, it’s pretty easy to set up my own detective agency here.”

“Oh, yeah?”

I nodded. “But, when I go to apply for one, the first thing I need to have is a home base.”

His eyes slowly dropped down my body before returning to me. “Where are you thinking of setting that up?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know. Is this apartment down here available for rent?”

His stare met my gaze and the heat that sparked behind his eyes shivered me to my core. He stalked over to me, his hand threading its way through my hair before he pulled me close. His breath pulsed against my lips. His heart beat against my chest. And as he gazed deeply into my eyes, he nodded.

“It’s most certainly available for rent,” he murmured.

And just before he kissed me, I heard Summer clear her throat at the stairs. “Am I interrupting something?”

I giggled as Finn groaned. “Right on time, as always.”

Summer came down the last few steps into the room. “Don’t worry, I won’t take her away from you for too long.”

Finn backed away before he nodded. “I’m gonna go have a beer with the guys. See you up there?”

I smiled. “See you up there, handsome.”

And when he disappeared, Summer gave me a look. “Do I dare say it?”

I playfully glared at her. “Not unless you want to lose your life.”

She barked with laughter. “Well, then the least I can do is give you a heads up.”

I furrowed my brow. “With what?”

She paused. “I miiiiiight have been outside while you and Finn were talking about some things. I was kind of waiting for an opportunity to barge in, but it didn’t come along until just now.”

“So, you heard about me moving to Santa Cruz?”

She grinned. “I did.”

“How do you feel about that?”

She threw her arms around my neck. “I think Cheyenne’s gonna be thrilled to have her aunt so close.”

I hugged her tightly. “I really think you should tell her about Tanner.”

She placed her hands on my shoulders and pulled back to look at me. “Actually, that’s why I came down here. I wanted to give you a heads up on something I sort of put into motion.”

I narrowed my eyes. “What did you do?”

She waved her hand in the air and clicked her tongue. “Oh, nothing bad, you worry wort. I just… I thought it might be a good thing to have Mom and Dad there–and you–when we tell Cheyenne about Tanner. You know, in case she needs support or something.”

My eyes widened. “Mom and Dad are coming into town?”

She nodded. “Yep. They’re hitting the road tomorrow and they’ll be in town for dinner. I thought maybe we could have one big, happy family get-together.”

I sighed with relief. “They’re really going to like that, and I’m telling you they’re not the same Mom and Dad that we know. I wouldn’t have put Cheyenne with them otherwise.”

“And after seeing what you’re capable of doing with my own two eyes? I believe you now. Really, I do.”

I hugged her tightly again. “I love you so much, you know that?”

She squeezed my tight. “I love you, too. And because you love me so much, we’re going to talk about this thing with Finn, right? I get to give you a bit of grief over it, right?”

I snorted. “You can give me all the grief you want. Whatever levels the playing field before I move my ass all the way up here.”

Then, Finn’s voice echoed down the stairs. “You girls coming up? We got margaritas and steaks going on the grill!”

And as the sound of sizzling meat sounded softly from beyond the walls of the basement apartment, I knew life couldn’t get any better than this.

I had finally found my path, and like Summer, I’d do anything to stay on it.
