Flawed Heart: Epilogue

“How do I look?”

“Like the fucking queen you are,” Ocean laughs and fluffs out the back of my dress again.

“Is it too much?” I turn to Jade, who is playing with the hair piece tucked in my curled hair.

“Stop. Amelia, you look amazing.”

My hands run over the front of the dress, “I’m nervous. I can’t believe we’re really doing this.”

“Like Zander was really going to wait,” Ocean snorts.

“The prenup said six months. He only gave me four,” I sigh and turn to the side looking at my profile.

“Man knew what he wanted,” Jade shrugs and I see the wink she shoots to Ocean.

“You both suck so far as bridesmaids,” I joke with them and we’re all laughing.

“Okay! Its time,” Tabbi shouts, waving her hand at me, “And wait until you see it.”

“Tabbi,” I laugh, “You can’t say things like that to me today. Maid Of Honor, which means you keep me calm.”

“I’m just saying, your man knows what he’s doing,” Tabbi giggles and grabs her bouquet off the dresser. It takes all three of us to manage getting my dress down the staircase but we manage. The back porch doors are open and I can see the flower petals.

Spyder and Becks are playing an acoustic version of Taylor Swift’s, This Love. I step outside and York is there to grab my hand.

“Last chance to back out,” He whispers to me through his smile.

I shove him playfully in the ribs, “At some point you both will have to make up.”

York sighs, but keeps his face light for me, “We’ll see how he treats you. Maybe in twenty years I’ll think about it.”

“Terrible,” I tell him, shaking my head and smiling.

My eyes touch on the crowd of our friends and family who are here to support us. I notice one person in the back I don’t recognize. He’s handsome, maybe a little older than me, and his eyes haven’t moved from in front of him, “Who’s that?”

“Ezra Hamilton,” York whispers before tapping my arm gently, “It’s our turn.”

We start walking, following the path of scattered petals, towards my future. My feet falter when my gaze finally finds Zander. In an all-black tux, standing by our Willow Tree. Tiny white, lights decorate the usually dark and dreary branches, giving the tree a fairytale look.  I take a deep breath, my lips smiling effortlessly. One foot in front of the other I walk towards the man who has always held my heart since the day we met under this tree. Through the pain, through our redemption, today I’ll promise him loyalty and love for the rest of our lives. This is the love story of Zander Knight and Amelia Allister…and if you haven’t heard of it, you must have been living under a rock.
