My Unexpected Mate: Chapter 20

Impatience

Calvin’s POV

When I saw her leave the house alone this morning, I got excited. She was finally getting away from those two idiots that think she belonged to them.

She was mine.

I looked at the time and I saw it was a little past 8 am. Where was she going this early? And how come she was alone? I thought those two idiots were never going to let her out of their sight.

I could feel a strong aura of possessiveness and protectiveness coming from them toward both girls. But mostly Aria.

She was wearing a jacket on top of a hoodie and jeans that made her ass look perfect. I can’t wait to touch her again. Her hair was in a ponytail, and I could see her pretty face perfectly.

Just looking at her got me hard and my breathing picked up. No woman had ever managed to do that to me just by existing. I wondered how excited I will get when I finally have that body to myself. Without the clothes.

I have to stop thinking about that because I will go against my boss, and he will kill me this time.

I took a few deep breaths and focused on my task. I had to follow her.

She hurried out of the house and walked a little down the road. A cab picked her up and they headed towards the city.

I followed her in my car for about 15 minutes.

The cab stopped in front of a hotel called Moontel. Funny name.

She got out and went inside.

What is she doing here?

I thought about following her inside, but I decided to wait a little while. If she didn’t come back soon, I would go inside.

A few minutes passed by and she came back outside with some guy. He was tall and muscular. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. His hand touched her back and I felt pure rage inside of me.

Who the fuck was that? I clenched my fists.

I could see by the way he looked at her that he liked her. Well, he is one unlucky bastard. They all are. She belongs to me.

They crossed the street and walked away from me. I waited until they went around the corner and I started driving.

I got to the corner in time to see them walk inside a small bakery called Pete’s.

I parked my car across the street so I could see what was going on inside.

They sat at the table and some guy brought them coffee and donuts. They talked a little with him and I could see her smiling. She was even prettier when she smiled.

But who the fuck were these people to her? Why was she here?

I had an immense urge to go inside and take her away. Take her away from all of them. Because she didn’t belong to them. But I can’t do that. Not yet.

For the longest time, they were just talking. I was dying to know about what, but even with my sensitive hearing I couldn’t hear them. There was a lot of traffic and other people talking therefore it was hard to isolate just them.

So, I just sat in my car and waited for them to finish and leave the bakery.

After about two long hours I saw Aria pick up her phone. Somebody was calling her. She spoke on the phone for a few moments and when she hung up, Ian started getting up from his chair.

He was leaving, but she was staying. I could see the man who served them leave through the back door. He was probably going to the storage room or something.

She was alone inside a bakery.

Before I could stop myself, I got out of the car, crossed the street, and got inside the bakery.

Her divine scent hit my nostrils and I had to muster up all of my strength not to take her right then and there.

I was not supposed to be here. But I couldn’t control myself when I saw that she was finally alone. I was not doing anything. I just wanted to talk to her; see those green eyes and remind her she was mine.

I quickly looked around the bakery to make sure nobody was inside and then my eyes landed on her.

I could see she was afraid and confused, but she didn’t recognize me.

How was that possible? She should know me. Those beautiful eyes should have recognized me. It had been four years, but I hadn’t changed that much.

I walked slowly towards her, and I could see the terror in her eyes. She remembered.

“Well, hello, little bird,” I said and smirked.

She looked at me and I could see she was struggling to speak.

“Did you miss me?” I ask.

I could see she was confused again. Why?

“I am… I am sorry, sir…” she mutters. “I don’t know who you are.”

What the fuck? She didn’t know who I was? How was that possible? I was one hundred percent sure I was responsible for the most terrifying moment of her life. Her fear belonged to me. Just like the rest of her.

“How can you not know, little bird?” I asked and narrowed my eyes.

Could she be pretending?

“I am sorry,” she said quietly. “We have never met before. You have me confused with someone else.”

I clenched my fists and her breathing picked up. She was afraid of me. Her body remembered me, but she didn’t. Why?

And then I figured it out. That bitch Grace took her memories. She was under a spell. She didn’t know she was mine.

I gathered my composure and gave her a terrifying smile. “You will remember, little bird. Don’t worry. You belong to me.”

Her eyes went wide with fear, and I quickly got up and left the bakery.
