Take Me To The Mountain: Epilogue

Willow

in the best possible way. Having just given birth to our son a few hours ago, this is the first time that I’ve had a moment of rest. When I doze off for just a bit, I wake up to the most beautiful sight. Bennett is lying on the couch with our son on his chest fast asleep.

This big, burly bearded, tattooed mountain man is snuggling with our tiny, innocent little baby, and it’s just the sweetest sight I could ever imagine. Luckily, the cell phone is on the table beside my bed and I’m able to snap a few pictures before he looks over at me.

‘We need to get several cameras to keep around the house because we’re going to need them,’ I tell him.

After taking more than a few more pictures, he has a big, goofy smile on his face.

‘Anything you want, my wife,’ he says, turning to kiss the top of our son’s head.

‘You’ve got to stop doing that. I just gave birth to him and you’re already somehow turning me on.’

The doctor said that we couldn’t have sex again for six to eight weeks depending on how I heal, so being turned on before I’m even released from the hospital is extremely inconvenient.

‘Then you better stop looking at me like that. The doctor said I can’t touch you and if it means putting your health at risk, then it’s not worth it.’

When it comes to my health, Bennett is extra vigilant. Whatever the doctor said while I was pregnant, he had enforced. There was a list of food I wasn’t supposed to eat. Every time we saw the doctor, he made sure that I was allowed to be up and around.

Thankfully, my doctor just laughed it off. She thought it was great how protective and involved he was, and I know will be.

‘I’m simply looking at my husband snuggling my son. And just because you can’t touch me, doesn’t mean I can’t touch you.’ I send him a flirty wink, and he groans.

‘Baby, if you’re not cumming for the next six to eight weeks, then neither am I.’

‘There’s no need for you to suffer.’

‘Sweetheart, you just gave birth to our son. It’s the most amazing gift you could have ever given me. So, it’s absolutely nothing for me to wait with you.’ The sincerity in his voice puts a stop to any fight I had left in me.

‘Now get some sleep. Soon our friends will want to visit and meet our son.’

It wasn’t our plan to give birth in the hospital, but Bennett wanted to take me away for one last weekend before the baby got here and the baby decided to make a slightly early appearance. After Bennett told Phoenix, he spread the word, and they all decided they couldn’t wait and were going to come and visit. I’ll be in the hospital for the next few days, so it will be nice to see them.

The weekend away was a celebration that we were free. My aunt and uncle won’t be getting out of jail anytime soon. They were charged with attempted kidnapping, multiple assault charges, filing a false police report, and a few other charges in regard to myself and Bennett. Now they are being sent back to Chicago to face trial for multiple rape charges and other crimes that have been exposed.

Needless to say, they will be sentenced to many lifetimes in jail and it’s such a relief.

I manage to get a cat nap in before there was a knock on my door.

‘Oh, we didn’t mean to wake you,’ Jana says and she, her husband Cole, and their friend, Storm come in.

Over the last several months we’ve all gotten to know Storm pretty well. He’s easily fit in as one of the group, not that Cole has given him much of a choice. But he has come out of his shell for us.

Slowly the rest of the guys and their families pile in to meet the newest addition to the clan.

‘Now that we are all here, what is this little guy’s name?’ Hope asks, holding him and looking at him with love in her eyes.

‘We named him William, after Willow’s dad,’ Bennett says as tears fill my eyes.

Without me even asking him, Bennett told me his name. It felt right and couldn’t be a more perfect fit.

‘Well since everyone is here, I have something it tell you all, too.’ Storm says catching all our attention.

Jana gives him a look and rubs his arm. I get the feeling this isn’t super happy news.

‘Everything okay?’ Emelie asks because she apparently got the same feeling.

‘I was just notified that one of the guys that I served with was killed in action. He’s a really good friend of mine and I had made him a promise that if anything was to happen to him, I would take care of his wife. Before he left for deployment, they found out she was pregnant.

Neither of them have any family. So, after talking with her, we decided that she’s going to join me here on the mountain, at least until after the baby’s born and she gets on her feet. Tomorrow I’ll leave to go to the funeral and help her pack and take care of everything.’

Something in my gut says that our family is about to grow by two more. I know he says it is temporary, but I don’t think it is.

Whatever happens, I know we will welcome her with open arms.
