Take Me To The River: Chapter 17

It’s been so long, since I’ve had a relaxing, lazy day. Axel has barely let me move, claiming he wants to take care of me. He fixed breakfast and lunch, and now, we’re lazing on the couch.

‘You asked about my family earlier. What about yours?’ I snuggle closer to him under a blanket.

This is one of my favorite things to do with him. He doesn’t sit still for long, so when I can get him to cuddle and simply hold me, I take full advantage of it.

‘I was adopted. My parents were good people, and they adopted me later in life, after trying for so long to have a child of their own. They taught me everything about living off the land and were one of those couples that were just meant to be parents. When they adopted me as a baby, they were already in their late forties. They have since passed on.’

‘Oh, Axel. I’m so sorry. Have you ever wanted to find your birth parents?’

‘I did find them right after my parents died, and before I moved out here. They’re still druggies who didn’t care about anything, but their next fix. Didn’t even remember having a kid. I don’t want any part of that, so I walked away and used the money my parents left me to buy this land. Then, I used the skills they taught me to live here.’

‘My big, rugged mountain man,’ I murmur against his skin, as I kiss his chest.

I’d have loved to meet his parents. To get to know the couple that shaped this amazing man I’m falling for. I always dreamed of one day having in-laws, another set of parents. But that doesn’t seem as essential anymore, and certainly not as important as who is standing by my side. I want that to be Axel.

I’ve never had sex on a couch before, but I have to admit I’m a fan after today. Even though I know how much he loves being in control, he fights that for me. It’s not often, but when he gives it over, I relish every minute of it. Maybe, it’s the thought of having control over this big man, which excites me.

So, when he pulls me into his lap and has me straddle him, I soak up the control he’s giving me. I try to drag it out for both of us, but he’s just as needy as I am, and very quickly, his pants are gone and so is my shirt.

Seeing him sitting naked on the couch, hard and ready for me, is all it takes to scratch any notion of taking it slow, and it goes out of the window. Straddling him, I slide my wet pussy down onto his hard, throbbing cock, and both of us moan at the pleasure.

‘Little One, how are you still so tight?’ He groans as he uses my hips to control the speed.

I don’t answer him. Not that I can, because my mind is short circuiting at how perfectly he fills me, and how much I love every inch of him.

When our eyes lock, it’s like time stands still. Every movement we make is to draw us closer to our shared orgasm, but at this moment, it’s also a way to show our feelings towards each other. It’s how we are claiming each other.

No dirty words or fancy moves. Just us, raw and real together, and the orgasm that follows is strong and powerful, unlike anything I’ve ever felt. I collapse onto him, as I try to catch my breath, and when I open my eyes, I’m right there in his arms, still on the couch.

Lying in his arms after sex is one of my favorite things in the world. Being skin-to-skin, hearing his heart race, knowing it’s racing, because of me is comforting. These moments are when I get the unguarded Axel. I can trace my hand over every inch of him, and he doesn’t try to stop me. It’s like getting keys to the castle and being allowed to peek behind the locked doors.

I’m thinking over the last few days, and how much I have loved being out here. How perfect it all feels, and I don’t want it to end. Then, I remember what Axel said about how he likes to go hunting after it rains.

‘When can we go hunting again?’ I ask.

He laughs. A full carefree laugh and I swear it’s the best sound in the world.

‘You took to it so well. Better than I ever expected,’ he grins at me.

‘It was a rush.’

‘Well, if we can finish up the jerky from the last deer, then we can go tomorrow, weather pending.’

‘Tomorrow is also one week since we checked the road.’

‘It is, but after the rain today, I don’t think the road will be clear. We should give it a few more days before we check it again.’

Though I wish we could make a run into town, at the very least for some clothes for me, but I don’t say anything. Mostly, because I don’t want him to have any reason to think I don’t want to be here. But I should have known My Giant can read my mind. He has a way of doing it that I’ll never understand, but am grateful for.

‘How about while you make dinner, I’ll go check on the road? The rain should have stopped by then.’

I smile big for him. ‘Thank you.’

We spend the afternoon finishing the jerky and talking. Everything from books and TV shows, growing up, and anything in between, we cover. He tells me about some of his hunting trips up here in the mountains, and I tell him about going fishing with my dad.

The rain stopped hours ago, so like we agreed after we finish the jerky, I start dinner, and he goes to check the road. He promises not to be gone long, and I promise not to leave the house. Though, I can tell him leaving me here alone is making him nervous, but if I’m going to live out here, we both have to get used to it.

I don’t like being without him any more than he likes leaving me alone, but being attached at the hip isn’t practical. Especially, out here, when it makes more sense for me to stay at the cabin and take care of things here, like tonight.

Focusing on cooking dinner and on browning the meat, I’m startled when there’s a crackle coming from his desk. I think I have to be imagining it, so I ignore it, until a voice fills the cabin, causing me to jump, thinking someone walked in on me.

‘Axel, you there?’

A quick glance around the open space shows I’m still alone, and I don’t recognize this voice. Then, I remember the radio he told me about on his desk. That has to be it.

Slowly walking to the desk, I take a look. Since I don’t know how to use it, or even what to say, so I figure it’s best to let it be. Not that I would even know how to explain why I’m answering the radio, instead of Axel, so I remain silent. It’s another few minutes before the voice speaks again.

Once again, I think about answering, but I can only imagine what his friend would think, if a girl he doesn’t know answered, instead of Axel. No, it’s best to wait for Axel to return. If it was an emergency, he’d say so, right?

‘Axel, I’m checking on you, you there?’

Then silence. Well, at least it’s not an emergency, so I go back to cooking, and a few minutes later, loud beeps fill the cabin, and a red light starts flashing on his desk.

Shaking my head, I still have a lot to learn, and I want, too. But the longer I’m here, the more I can’t imagine my life anywhere else.

As Axel walks back into the cabin, I’m just getting the food in the oven.

‘The road is still not passable, but it is better than when we were last there.’ He says as he takes off his boots.

‘Your desk was making sounds.’ I nod over there with a smile.

‘The beep and red light means I have a message. It’s kind of like a pager, letting me know I missed Phoenix when he tried to reach me. Come here, Little One. You need to know how to work the radio.’

He pulls me onto his lap and shows me how to use the radio to call Phoenix.

‘Phoenix, it’s Axel. You there?’

He kisses the top of my head, as we wait. We don’t have to wait long.

‘Axel? I’m here. You okay?’

‘I’m good. I was checking on the road. It’s still flooded.’

‘I figured it would be after the rain today, but I wanted to see if you need anything since I can get to town.’

Axel looks at me and shakes his head with a smile on his face. ‘What size clothes do you need, Little One?’

Though I can live perfectly fine out here as we are now, but a few more clothes that fit for hunting and all won’t hurt.

I rattle off my size, and he nods.

‘I actually could use some women’s clothes.’

There’s a longer than normal pause. I smile, imagining the look on his friend’s face, and what I wouldn’t give to see it right now. I bite my lip to hide the giggles that threaten to take over.

‘Come again?’

‘It’s a long story, and I’ll share when we meet in town, but I’m not alone.’ He reels off a few items and my size.

‘Okay, I’ll get into town tomorrow. The other guys are doing good as well. When I’m back from town, I’ll radio you.’

Nice and simple. He’s satisfied Axel will tell him when he sees him next and doesn’t push him further than he wants to go and just accepts it. I wonder if Axel knows how rare friends like that are today.

‘Roger that.’

‘How is he going to get them to you?’ I ask as Axel hangs up the radio receiver.

‘We will meet where the road is flooded and have a pulley system we attach to our trucks.’

He resets the box that was flashing to let him know he missed Phoenix’s call and shows me how to do it as well.

‘Everyone I know would have badgered you with so many questions right then and there, but he just accepted you’ll tell him later. He must be a good friend.’

‘He is. All the guys are like that, though I don’t doubt for one minute, the next time Phoenix talks to the other guys, he’ll tell them I have a woman up here in my cabin. They gossip, but they won’t push me further than I’m willing to go either.’

I get up to go check on dinner, and he follows me into the kitchen.

‘I’ve been wanting to know how you have power out here,’ I ask him the questions I had, as my mind wandered, while he was gone.

There’s still so much to learn about how he lives out here, and I want to know all of it.

‘I have some solar on the house, but all the heating is done from wood.’

As I turn on the water to wash the dishes, I can’t get any hot water.

‘Speaking of heating, is the hot water heater working?’

‘Let me check it.’ He gets up and disappears down the hallway.
