The Perfect Fit: Chapter 65

XANDER

“So, you’re sure we can trust this guy?” I ask, pacing West’s office and chewing on a hangnail.

“Well, we’re about to find out,” West says, shooting me a look that warns me to stop fidgeting, and I will as soon as Lily’s brother gets here. Security called a few minutes ago to let us know he was in the building. But for now, it’s worrying and pacing time.

Zeke grunts.

West sighs. “Will you both fucking relax?”

I stop pacing. “You know Zeke has no chill.”

West arches one eyebrow. “And you?”

“I’m just hungry.” My stomach growls to prove my point.

Zeke rolls his eyes. “You’re always hungry.”

I perch on the edge of West’s desk. “Well, I could barely eat my second bagel this morning because I fucking hate lying to Lily, and you two fuckers know it.”

Zeke strides across the office until he’s standing right in front of me. “Which is why we didn’t tell you about our meeting with Nico until we had to.”

“Besides, we’re not lying,” West adds.

“Sure feels like we are,” I mutter.

West shoots Zeke a look, and before I can ask what it’s about, Zeke is sliding his arms inside my suit jacket. With a rough grip on my waist, he yanks me close and runs his teeth over my throat. “How the fuck do you stay in such good shape when you eat two bagels every day for breakfast?”

I hiss a breath. “Stop trying to distract me. It won’t work.”

He glances down at my crotch. “But it’s already working.”

I sink my teeth into my lip and glance up at the ceiling, willing my cock not to get any harder. “Fuck you.”

His tongue lashes at the sensitive spot on my neck that makes my knees buckle. I’m such a fucking manwhore for him. “I’m gonna fuck you on West’s desk as soon as this meeting is done.”

The sound of West’s secretary’s voice fills the room, announcing Nico’s arrival. I push Zeke off me and straighten my clothes before perching on the edge of the desk and crossing my legs to hide the bulge in my pants.

Nico looks a little like Lily, but not as much as I would’ve expected. His dark brown eyes are most notable, so different from her glowing green. His second-in-command, Dean, strolls in beside him, and it’s clear they’re very close. Like the way West, Zeke, and I are close. I don’t know that anyone else would notice, but my gaydar is finely tuned. Dean’s eyes rake over my body a fraction of a second longer than they should, and the warning growl that comes out of Zeke has me biting back a laugh.

Once the introductions are complete, Nico takes a seat opposite West while Dean remains near the door. “Where’s Lily?” Nico asks, glancing around West’s office.

“She’s at home,” I tell him.

“Is she okay?” His tone is laced with genuine concern, and any worries I had about his motives dissolve instantly. He obviously loves her.

“She’s good. Maybe you could come see her after we’re done here,” West suggests.

Both Nico and Dean smile at that suggestion, but Nico’s the one who answers. “We have to be back in Vegas by morning, but it would be great to see her.”

As we’re wrapping up the meeting, I realize that I like these guys. I appreciate how much they love our girl and that they clearly have her back. However, I don’t like that West and Zeke are going to be involved with a plan to take out a made Mafia man. Although this won’t be the first time the two of them have gotten a little blood on their hands. They’ve walked a fine line between doing what they think is right and doing what the law says is right for as long as I’ve known them. And if I’m honest, I must admit that I wouldn’t have them any other way.

“So, shall we let Lily know we have company for dinner?” I ask.

“Let’s surprise her.” West grins. “She always cooks too much food anyway.”
