True Luna: The Darkness Within: Chapter 13

Our Way In

Hunter’s POV

Alex looked like he’d been beaten up and tortured. I could see pain spreading through his body. I could see his facial expressions changing. I could feel his anger in the air.

What did Stella tell him?

“She told me to tell you that she misses you,” Alex said, making my heart flutter. “She tried to mind-link you too, but your connection isn’t as strong as it would be if you were marked.”

I swallowed the lump in my throat. I wished that she was marked by me. I wished that I could talk to Stella. I wished that I could tell Stella how much I missed and loved them both.

“I miss her too,” I mumbled quietly.

“What else did she say?” Alpha Logan asked. “Does she know where they are?”

Alex looked at his dad and shook his head.

“No,” Alex said. “Stella said that Sophia was unconscious when they took her.”

My stomach turned. I stepped away from Alex and started pacing around the room.

“Sophia blocked her,” Alex continued, making me look at him. “Stella can’t talk to her anymore.”

I closed my eyes and ran my fingers through my hair.

“Fuck,” I mumbled.

“How did she manage to talk to you?” Beta Andrew asked.

“She isn’t sure,” Alex said. “She said that she used Sophia’s light magic to reach me.”

I stopped pacing and looked at Alex. I had an idea.

“You said that she can’t talk to Sophia anymore?” I asked, making Alex look at me and nod.

“Can she still see or hear what is going on around her?” I asked as my heart raced.

If Stella could do that, we had our way in. We would know what was going on around her. We would know their plans.

“I had the same idea,” Alex said. “I already told Stella to try. She will let me know as soon as she does.

A small smile spread across my face.

I ignored the wave of jealousy that washed over me. I was jealous that Alex could talk to her and I couldn’t.

“We have our way in,” I said, making Alex nod.

“We have our way in,” Alex repeated.

My heart raced. I just hoped that Stella would be able to do it. I hoped that she would be able to give us something that we could use to get my Angel out of there.

“Did Stella say anything else?” Luna Emma asked. “Is Sophia hurt?”

Alex looked at his mom. I saw his jaw twitch and my world stopped spinning.

She was hurt, wasn’t she?

“She will be okay, Mom,” Alex mumbled quietly. “We will get her out of there.”

The room was quiet for a few seconds.

I was trying to calm my racing heart down. I had a vision of it jumping out of my chest. My Angel was hurt, wasn’t she? The fuckers hurt her, didn’t they? What did they do to her? What did they do to my Angel?

“What did they do to her, Alex?” Mason broke the silence.

“Mason…,” Alex spoke, but Mason interrupted him.

“What did they do, Alex?” Mason asked, his voice trembling.

Alex took a deep breath and grabbed a fistful of his hair.

“Maybe it would be better if we don’t…,” Daisy spoke quietly, but I interrupted her.

“I need to know,” I said quietly. “What did they do, Alex?”

Alex looked up at me and gulped. I could tell that he was having trouble speaking about it. I still needed him to tell me, though. I needed to know what they did so I could do the same once I got my hands on them. I would hurt them just like they hurt her.

“Stella didn’t want to tell me much,” Alex said as he looked at his mom. “She said that the witches tortured her, but she didn’t tell me how.”

Luna Emma sobbed quietly and buried her head into Alpha Logan’s chest.

I could tell that Alex wasn’t done, though.

“Stella said that Sophia is chained to…,” Alex’s voice broke.

He lowered his head and took a deep breath.

I was frozen. Chained? They chained my Angel?

“Sophia is chained to a table,” Alex finished as he looked back up at his parents. “Alpha Nathan’s father told her that he would make her kill us all. He told her that she would be left alone in this world.”

The room was silent for a few moments, but then everyone started screaming at the same time.

My dad was the loudest.

“I am going to kill him!” my dad shouted. “I should have killed the fucker 18 years ago. I am going to find him, and I am going to kill him!”

My mom pulled my dad into a tight hug.

“We have to get her out of there, Logan,” I heard Luna Emma’s broken voice. “We have to bring her back home.”

“We will, my love,” Alpha Logan said. “I promise that we will.”

His voice was a mixture of pain and anger.

I still couldn’t move. I pictured her tied to a fucking table. I pictured chains around her small body. I pictured bruises and cuts all over her. I pictured it all and I was on the verge of an explosion.

I could feel the anger pulsating in my veins. I could feel the pain spreading from my chest to the rest of my body. I could feel the fear creating an endless pit in my stomach.

Alex looked at me and I saw pain written all over his face.

“Stella needs to hurry up,” I managed to mumble through my gritted teeth. “She needs to give us some information.”

I didn’t even realize how hard I was gritting my teeth. My whole jaw ached.

Alex gulped and nodded.

“I am going to lose it if she doesn’t reach out soon,” I added, making Alex nod again.

I could tell that he couldn’t speak. He looked like he was about to cry.

“We need to start preparing the room,” Alpha Logan said, making both Alex and I look at him with anger written all over our faces.

“I am not letting you lock her up!” Alex managed to speak.

“Me neither,” I added, making Alpha Logan look at me. “You are not imprisoning my mate.”

“Goddess, Hunter, it’s not imprisonment,” my dad said. “It is a safety measure for both her and us.”

I looked at him and tightened my jaw. I didn’t see it like that. I saw it like them locking her up and I hated it. Holden hated it. We wouldn’t let it happen.
