What Happens in Vegas: Chapter 27

Gia

Trent’s apartment was like nothing I’d ever seen before. I dropped my overnight bag by the door and walked toward the panel of windows that took up one whole wall. The city glittered like diamonds in the dark.

Trent handed me a glass of wine. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

“Yes. There are days this all seems like a dream. I’m doing what everyone said I couldn’t.”

“Good thing you didn’t listen to them.” He opened the slider and led me out to the balcony.

I grabbed onto the railing with one hand and lifted the glass to my lips with the other. A gentle breeze tossed my hair around my shoulders. It was quieter here. On the Strip there was always a hum of noise and activity. Horns honking. People talking and laughing. A bang here, a boom there. But on this balcony, removed from the heart of the city, it was peaceful. “Thank you for sharing this with me.”

His hand ran down my spine and rested on the small of my back. “There’s no one I’d rather share it with.” He pressed his lips to mine in a gentle kiss that heated quickly.

I hung my arms over his shoulders, letting the glass dangle from my fingertips as we devoured each other. He moved us to the lounger, and I straddled his lap, my skirt riding up my thighs. I emptied my glass and set it on the side table. “What do you think you’re doing, Mr. Dorsey?”

He pulled the blouse from my skirt, his fingers dancing along my bare skin. “Loving on you.”

I placed my hands over his. “Someone could see us.”

He shook his head. “It’s totally private. It’s too dark and we’re too high up for anyone to see. I don’t want anyone getting a peek at what’s mine.”

Mine.

That one word sent my heart fluttering. All my life I’d followed the rules, doing the right thing. I colored inside the lines.

Until I met Trent with his persuasive and talented tongue. Since then, I’d been crossing lines right and left with a big red crayon.

And I liked it.

I glanced to the sides, saw the walls that shielded us from the neighbors and lifted my blouse over my head. It was naughty and freeing.

Trent reached behind my back and unclasped my bra, pulling the straps down my shoulders. “Gorgeous.” He played with my breasts, kneading them and sucking my nipples. I rocked against the bulge in his pants, shamelessly grinding my clit along his erection. “Take my cock out.”

This bossy side of him turned me on. I scooted back and quickly went to work on his belt and zipper. His cock sprang free, all thick and veiny. My fingers wrapped around him, and I used my thumb to spread the precum all over the engorged head.

Trent groaned and pushed my skirt up around my hips. He slipped my panties to the side and finger fucked me. “You’re so goddamn wet for me.”

I was. He wound me up so tight I was ready to go off like a firework. He always made sure I came before him. I’d been selfish, taking without giving. Tonight, I felt generous.

I pushed my hips back until his fingers fell from inside me. “Hey…”

My finger went to his lips. “Shhh. Let me take care of you.” I shimmied backward until my body lay flat on his legs and took him in my mouth. My tongue licked from his balls to the head, savoring the salty taste. Taking him to the back of my throat, I swallowed and took him deeper.

His hips bucked. “Jesus Christ, Gia!” His hands gripped the sides of my head and guided me up and down at a languid pace. I tilted my head, so each stroke rubbed his cock along the rigid roof of my mouth and down to the tight cavern of my throat. He was a lot to take, but I enjoyed the challenge. His steady stream of filthy words assured me my technique was on point.

Trent gripped me under the arms and pulled me back on his lap. “When I come, I want it to be inside you.” With some awkward adjustments, he managed to push his pants down his hips and pull a condom from his wallet. Ripping my panties, he tossed them to the floor. I frowned at the tattered lace. “They were in the way.”

“You owe me.”

“Happily. Now get on me.”

With my hands on his shoulders, I sank down, easing his cock into my pussy. He was bigger than any other man I’d been with and filled me full, stretching my body in the most delicious way. “Fuck, yes. Feels so good,” I moaned.

I rocked my hips forward and back, rubbing myself against his pelvis. Trent sucked my tits while one hand ran down the crack of my ass. He pushed his thumb inside and I clenched.

“Easy, baby. Let me in,” he cooed in my ear.

I fought the impulse to keep him out and relaxed into the feel of his forbidden touch. My body came alive. Every nerve ending sparked to life. My brain swam with endorphins. I climbed higher and higher, ready to explode. “I’m gonna come.” My head fell back as the orgasm overtook me and my body quivered with the release.

Trent pumped harder and faster, gripping my hips so hard I was sure to have bruises in the morning. With one final thrust, his eyebrows narrowed and his mouth fell open. “Fuck, baby! Yes!”

With my skirt still pushed up around my waist, I collapsed onto his chest, fully satisfied. Trent tenderly ran his fingers through my hair, cradling my head. Neither of us said a word as we basked in the afterglow of amazing sex.

I had teased him about falling for me, but the truth was I’d fallen in love with him. It happened too fast. Too messy. The roller-coaster ride of emotions overwhelmed me.

And it scared the crap out of me because I wasn’t sure Trent was capable of love.

Trent dropped me off at Mystique early to avoid prying eyes. I felt safe behind the tinted windows of his Audi but getting out cast me into the light. I bowed my head and made my way to the elevators, avoiding eye contact with anyone.

“Late night?”

The French accent was unmistakable. Genevieve fiddled with the floral arrangement in the lobby. “I…um…I…”

She held up a hand. “No explanation required. You’re glowing, mon chéri. A healthy sexual appetite is good for the soul. I hope he’s deserving of you.”

I pushed my hair behind my ears. “I’m not sure yet, but I’m hoping he is. Can you pretend you didn’t see me sneaking in?”

She zipped her lips. “A lady is entitled to secrets. Some of the best moments are those we can’t tell anyone about.”

“Is that so?” I said coyly, glad my indiscretions were safe with Genevieve. “Are you speaking from experience?”

She shrugged. “I’ve had a lover or two. I may be old, but I’m not dead.”

I laughed. “Thank you.” Giving her a tight hug, I continued my walk of shame, but I didn’t feel shameful at all. I deserved the good D I was getting.

A shower and a coffee later, I walked into the office on cloud nine. Whether my relationship with Trent lasted or not, I hadn’t ever felt so desired.

“Tone it down, will you?” Penny said.

“I can’t help it. The sex is amazing.” I smacked a hand over my lips. “Pretend I didn’t say that.”

Penny hugged me tightly. “No take backs. I’m so happy for you, even if I’m confused how you could fall for Trent. He’s so…”

“Bossy,” I finished.

“Yes. Although that’s not exactly the word I was thinking. He’s an…”

“Asshole?”

“I didn’t say that, but if the suit fits.

“I get it. I really do, but there’s a side to him you don’t know.”

“You can’t help who you fall in love with.”

“Who said anything about love?” It was presumptuous for Penny to assume anything.

“Sheesh, girl. I may not have been privy to all the dirty details, but I’m not blind. You’re totally in love with your boss.”

I held a finger to my lips. “Shhhh. Nobody needs to know. I’ve barely admitted it to myself, let alone told him.”

“You’ve got it bad. If you don’t want anyone to know, you better wipe that shit-eating grin off your face.”

I ran a hand over my face, trying to make it disappear. “Better?”

“Marginally.” She dropped into a chair. “What’s on the plan for the day?”

“Ariel Fox. I want to make sure we have everything on her rider correct. This is big. If we get it right, it could be worth beaucoup bucks for Mystique. My new title depends on it.”

“I seriously doubt that,” she said, pulling a pen from her mass of curls.

“Maybe not, but consider it insurance if anything goes wrong. I want her residency locked down. If I get fired, it won’t be for incompetency.” No matter how careful we’d been, I wasn’t oblivious to the risk I was taking.

“You’re not getting fired.”

I wished I had her confidence. Trent was my ace in the hole, but Hunter was a wild card. Our interaction the day before unsettled me. The guy was out for blood and at this point I don’t think he cared whose he got. “Insurance isn’t a bad thing.”

Penny made some notes on her pad of paper. “Consider it done.” Sticking the pen back in her hair, she said, “And for the record, I haven’t been Trent’s biggest fan. That being said, he’s been way more tolerable of late. If that has anything to do with you, then I’m all for this love affair.”

“I feel like I’m in a dream.” I pulled my hair up in a loose ponytail, wrapped it around my hand, and let it fall back to my shoulders. “I’m living in Vegas, have a career I love, and a man who accepts me for who I am. It’s too perfect. I keep waiting for something to go wrong. There’s no way this can last.”

Penny shook her head at me. “Don’t self-sabotage. You should soak it all up. Things are going well because you worked damn hard to get here. What are you worried about.?”

The list of worries was endless, but they all boiled down to one. “Failure. No matter how good it feels, I can’t help thinking that being with Trent is a dumb move. I hate sneaking around. It’s like walking on eggshells, always looking over my shoulder. Why did I have to fall for the one guy that’s off-limits?”

“Uh… because he makes all your lady parts tingle.”

“True. But at what cost? I mean… what if this whole arrangement is temporary? What happens to my job?”

Penny frowned. “You’re borrowing trouble. Live for today. You have no control over tomorrow or the day after that.”

“You’re right.” I pasted on a smile I didn’t really feel. Regardless of everything Penny said, there was an insecurity that niggled at the back of my brain. I couldn’t help but feel like our relationship was a train speeding down a one-way track at two hundred miles per hour with no idea what lies ahead.

If I didn’t want to crash and burn, I needed to slow down.
