HUGE PLAYERS: Chapter 20

“She’s sleeping.”

“I can see that. Why the fuck is she sleeping in your bed?”

I open my eyes just a crack but it takes a few moments for me to realize that I must have fallen asleep with Jameson. My head throbs with a hangover that comes from mixing too many drinks and not having the sense to hydrate at the same time. Ugh. I should know better.

“She was drunk. When she fell asleep, I didn’t have the heart to wake her.”

“You’re lucky it was me that found you. If it had of been Mom, she would have chopped off your testicles and mounted them above the mantle.”

“For one, Mom isn’t here. And for two, I don’t think that sleeping together warrants testicle removal.”

“Fucking your stepsister does, though.”

I flinch. Fucking? I can’t tell who Jameson is speaking to but I know it’s one of his brothers.

“Fucking?” Jameson laughs.

“Yeah, keep on laughing. This room stinks of sex and you have a nasty white stain on the front of your shorts.”

Oh shit.

“Just get the fuck out of here,” Jameson hisses. “Before you wake her.”

“Ah, you want to get back to spooning Maisie? I’ve got to admit that the way her ass looks from over here, I can see the appeal.”

“If I could get up out of this bed, you’d be eating those words off of my knuckles.”

There’s a pause as whoever is standing in the doorway chuckles. “I always knew you had a thing for her. All that shit you used to give the rest of us…it was all just a cover for the fact that you were jacking off over your stepsister.”

The bed shifts and I can hear a thud. I imagine Jameson tossing a pillow at his brother. “Get out,” he says again.

The chuckling continues but gets more distant and then the door clicks shut.

“Shit,” Jameson mutters. He shifts closer behind me as though he’s trying to check if I’m awake. I roll over, finding his face right next to mine on the pillow.

“I think we have a problem.”

I bring my hand to my face and cover my eyes. “I heard. Was that Joshua or Jessie?”

“Joshua.”

“Shit.”

“I thought it was just dudes who fall asleep right after sex.”

I groan, the embarrassment of my immediate slumber and current position filling me with shame.

“I drank way too much.”

“You seemed to know exactly what you were doing.” Jameson’s eyes sparkle at the memory and his smile is broad and genuine.

“Well, it wasn’t my first time.”

Jameson snorts. “Yeah, well I’m glad it wasn’t. I’m not really on my best form right now.”

We both look down at his injured leg and I smile. “It didn’t matter one bit.”

“So what do you want me to tell Joshua and the rest if they ask me what happened?”

“Joshua’s made his own assumptions. I’m sure he’s not going to keep his theory to himself. Kyle and Kameron won’t be an issue, but Joshua and Jessie…well, there is a risk that they could tell your mom.”

Jameson’s eyes appraise my face, his brow furrowing. “Why won’t Kyle and Kameron be a problem?”

“I guess you’re going to have to ask them that.”

I push myself into a seated positon and adjust myself, fixing my bra and buttoning my blouse. When I’m done, I climb off the bed, feeling the trickle of Jameson’s seed leaking down my leg. “Shit,” I say, going to the nightstand for a tissue that I can use to clean myself up.

“I’m not the first Fraser brother that you’ve fucked…” Jameson says, the realization covering his face.

“And you won’t be the last if Kyle has his way.” I sway on my feet, the alcohol still messing with my balance. “I’m going to go now,” I say.

“Maisie,” Jameson calls as my hand hits the door handle. “Don’t be a stranger.”
