What Happens in Vegas: Chapter 25

Gia

“Good Morning, Miss Romano,” Trent said as he poked his head into my office.

“Good morning, Mr. Dorsey.”

“I’ll need you in my office in ten minutes. Don’t be late.”

I lifted a manicured brow. “I rarely am.”

He tapped on his watch and disappeared down the hallway.

“Okay, I’m going to ask,” Penny said, throwing her hands in the air. “What the hell is going on with you two? You’ve been acting weird for weeks.”

Trent and I were extra careful not to let our romance spill over into the office since we made it official. “Weird how?”

She squinted her eyes at me. “Don’t be coy with me, missy. I remember you threatening to poke his eyes out with a pen when you first started here. Now it’s all… Good morning, Mr. Dorsey. Right away, Mr. Dorsey. Of course, Mr. Dorsey,” she mimicked.

I signed my name on the document in front of me in an effort to seem unaffected. “We’ve come to an agreement to be cordial for the purposes of work. It makes it much easier than when I want to strangle him.”

“Uh-huh. Just as I suspected.” She leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms.

I threw my pen down. “What is?”

“You two have the hots for each other, don’t you?”

I let out a sigh of exasperation. Trent and I spent almost every night together over the past few weeks. Keeping this secret from Penny felt shitty, but it was entirely necessary. “You’re being ridiculous. We’ve been nothing but professional.”

“Too professional,” she mused. “You used to come in here and vent about him being an asshole, but for the last month… nothing. You haven’t complained one bit about him being demanding or making unreasonable requests. Absolutely nothing. It’s as fishy as the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.”

“I’ve never been there, so I wouldn’t know.” I tapped the side of my head. “Think about it, Penny, you’re dating his best friend. Don’t you think he would have told Brett if we were involved?”

Her lips scrunched to one side. “Maybe, but I still think you’re hiding something.”

“Perhaps it’s your own guilt,” I said, trying to redirect her attention. “You’ve barely told me anything about you and Brett. You’re the one who’s hiding something and so you assume I am too.”

She sagged. “What do you want to know?”

I folded my hands under my chin and leaned on my desk. “Only everything.” I listened for the next ten minutes as Penny spilled the details of her blossoming relationship. I’ll admit I got more than I bargained for. Seemed Brett wasn’t the only one into kinky shit. My little wallflower of an assistant had her own proclivities. By the time she finished talking, Trent and I were the last thing on her mind.

My ears might have been bleeding, but my objective was accomplished.

I shut the door behind me and flipped the lock.

“You’re late, Miss Romano.” Trent beckoned me with his finger, making my panties wet with the simple action.

I strode to his desk in my three-inch heels, giving my hips a little extra sway. “I assure you, Mr. Dorsey, I have a good excuse.” I liked this game we played at work. Sitting on the edge of his desk in front of him, I left my legs a few inches apart, knowing he wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation.

Hidden behind his desk, he ran his hands up my legs and inside the edge of my panties, slipping a single finger into my pussy. The forbidden touch made me forget everything but the feel of him stroking inside me. “Hmmm. What could be so important that you’ve kept me waiting?”

“We have a problem,” I muttered as he inserted a second finger.

“The only problem is you should be bent over my desk right now, with my cock inside you instead of my fingers.” He pumped in and out of me, pressing his thumb against my clit in a circular motion.

I loved indulging in the naughty office behavior we should have kept at bay. My body tingled and fluttered under his expert ministrations. “I…I….” I couldn’t for the life of me remember a single thing I was supposed to say.

“You what?” Trent increased the tempo and pressure until an orgasm seized me and I fell over the edge, breath caught in my throat and body humming. “So damn beautiful,” he groaned.

With his fingers still inside me and the fog clearing from my head, I spit out a single word. “Brett.”

He frowned. “Not exactly the name I want to hear when I’ve just made you come.”

I grabbed his arm as he went to pull his hand from under my skirt. “And Penny. They’re onto us,” I explained. “We need to tell them before they figure it out on their own.”

Trent ran his hand down my leg in a gentle caress. “Brett’s not a problem. I trust him completely. The question is, do you trust Penny?”

I nodded. “She hasn’t given me any reason not to, and honestly, I feel like a bad friend not telling her. If they find out from someone else, they’ll both be hurt.”

He pulled a wipe from his desk and cleaned his fingers. “Hunter is coming back from Albuquerque at the end of the week. We’re going to have to be more careful. If he suspects anything…”

I put a hand on his shoulder. “Which is why this might be the perfect time. It would be nice to have allies in case something goes awry.”

“It’s up to you,” he said with a quick peck to my lips. “If you trust Penny, then so do I.”

“I do. When should we tell them?”

“Tonight. Invite Penny for drinks at The Rabbit Hole. Call it a girls’ night. I’ll bring Brett. We haven’t hung out in a while, so he’ll be totally up for it. Seven o’clock?”

“We’re either going to have allies or two friends who are really pissed at us.”

Trent smoothed out the lines between my eyebrows with his thumb. “You worry too much. Everything’s going to work out. You’ll see.”

I wished I had his confidence. If something went wrong, it would cost both of us.
